The Lizzie Bennet Diaries: Episode #99 "Future Talk": A.K.A.: They're Making Me Dizzie

Well folks, today was the last Monday ever that we will receive a brand new episode of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Go ahead, take a mo-mo for that to sink in and to get all your feels out.

Ok, on to the episode, I can safely say all the fans, specificly those of the female variety, freaked a little last week when we saw that the preview of today's episode had our dear Darcy sitting on his own in front of the camera. So we all knew we were going to be treated to more Dizzie time. Once again I would like to point out that they can not keep the smiles from their face, or their hands off each other. I think playing with Darcy's tie may be Lizzie's new favorite thing to do, and that jump cut? Damn. I am pretty sure she spent the rest of that episode with her legs across his lap.

I think it's safe to say we all knew that Lizzie was going to shoot down Darcy's job offer. She's always been fiercely independent, and the acceptance of an offer to work for Pemberly would have been completely out of character for her, even more so now that they are in a "relationship". In the past year or so, Lizzie has become hyper aware of other people's perceptions and just how first impressions/prejudices are formed, working for Pemberly now, especially in the way Darcy pitched it, with an entire team created around her, would definitely have her perceived negatively as the girl dating the boss.  Plus she already, whether she fully likes to admit it or not has "equality issues" when it comes to their financial standings.

Side bar: Pemberly has "nap pods"? Can I work there?

No, it just makes more sense to have Lizzie start up her own company, to have something that's her's, however she is looking to base her company in San Fransisco, which of course leads all the Dizzie shippers salivating of the thought of the two of them moving in together.

This was our last Darcy episode, which though sad, does make sense, as he he pointed out, he does have a company to run. Thursday marks the 100th and final episode of The Lizzie Bennet Dairies, and judging by the previews it looks like Lydia is back. Are you ready?

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries: Q&A ?10: And the Cuteness Continues

So yesterday I was off doing family things and was unable to watch the newest LBD Q&A. So I avoided my tumbler and first thing this morning, I sat down at my computer prepared to witness the cute, because the lovely Powers That Be over at The Lizzie Bennet Diaries may have made us wait 98 episodes for our Dizzie kiss, but they have been more than trying to make it up to their fans.

I don't usually write about  the Q&As, but come on people, that was adorable. Once again they can't stop touching, it was beyond adorable. It is also important to note that neither one of them can not stop smiling. Darcy has smiled more in this episode than I think in all the episodes he's ever been in combined. He's just so happy, he's practically beaming, and I love that they had Darcy ask Lizzie what her answer would have been to his asking her to the theatre back at Pemberly. He knows what the answer is, but he still needs to hear it, because he can't believe that this is all real. That after all these months of pining Lizzie is finally his.

Tomorrow marks the LAST week of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, and it is a bittersweet feeling. While the fans are all excited to see a Darcy video, the fact that this amazingly creative take on Pride & Prejudice will be coming to an end is a sad realization.

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries Episode #98 "Gratitude": AKA: And Then Their Fandom EXPLODED

From the very beginning, it was clear how Lizzie and Darcy's story would end. It had to end with them together, although other details of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice were altered in this cleverly modern adaptation, this one plot point we all knew would remain the same. And yet, that did not stop the fandom from salivating over every detail of how it could possibly go down. Fan Fiction was written, theories were made, and after Monday's tease of an episode, to say that viewers were chomping at the bit for today's installment would be quite the understatement.

So after a brief tease, by a very happy looking Lizzie, we finally get to see just what went down on Lizzie's birthday. I just want to thank the writers for having the first words out of Lizzie's mouth be "I thought you were Chinese." Even more thanks for Darcy's calm and collected response of "I can understand the confusion." I can not think of a more perfect way to illustrate how beautifully awkward they are together.

Let's face it folks today's episode was all about the looks. The way Lizzie looks longingly at Darcy, the way, as usual he can't stop looking at her. Seriously folks, it's enough to make a girl go weak in the knees. You can actually see Darcy's heart fall when Lizzie says she wants to be friends. Then of course, there is the hope that lights up across Lizzie's face as Darcy tells her his feelings for her have not only not dulled, but in fact, intensified since the fall. Major props must be given to Ashley Clements and Daniel Vincent Gordh.

But let's get to the good stuff people, today after 97 and 1/2 episodes, Lizzie Bennet and William Darcy finally kissed! And what a set of kisses it was. The first one, was impulsive, slightly awkward, as it should have been. In an attempt to clarify the situation, Lizzie impulsively puts her hand on Darcy's neck, to turn him towards her and kisses him full on the lips while he is in the middle of explaining how he wants to be more than just friends. He stiffens at first, and you can see that this was not where he thought the conversation was headed.

Lizzie opens her eye first and pulls back slightly, you can see the shock over what she has done all over her face. While its hard to really tell from the angle of the camera, it's pretty safe to say that Darcy keeps his eyes closed a bit longer. It's as if he is afraid that if he opens them it won't be real. He's savoring this moment. Then of course comes the REAL KISS. He pulls he back in, close his hands roaming her back. This is what he has been wanting, waiting for since back in the fall. The feel of Lizzie in his arms, the taste of her lips, and the fact that she wants to be with him. This is not some perfectly angled, sweet romantic kiss, no, this folks is the real deal, well as real as it gets in the realm of entertainment that is.

What's really interesting to notice is up till the first kiss, Lizzie and Darcy very rarely had any physical contact with each other, at least as far as we were shown. For the most part they have only ever been shown standing/sitting awkwardly across/beside one another. The exceptions being when Lizzie awkwardly touches his arm in Episode #78 "The Lizzie Trap" when she is flustered by Gigi throwing her and Darcy in a room together, when she touches his shoulder to get by him in Episode #83 "Corporate Interview" and when Darcy lays his hand upon her shoulder/back to comfort her when she receives the Lydia news in Episode #84 "Ugh".

After that first kiss though, the awkward no touching spell is broken and now they can't seem to stop touching each other. Their foreheads resting against each other when they break apart, the way Lizzie plays with his tie, or how Darcy leaves his hand resting on her back, it's as if neither of them can fully believe that what they have wanted for so long has finally come to be.

So what's going to happen next? After Monday's video I was curious as to what would happen in Episode #99, well according to the preview for Monday's video, Darcy is talking to the camera. ALONE. This is gonna be good.

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries: Episode #97 "Special Delivery": AKA: The Day an Entire Fandom Squealed in Unison

For those of you who haven't seen today's episode of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, GO DO IT NOW! Then come back and sqwee along.

I knew it was coming. It had to be coming, I mean I saw the still of the video and yet...I still did a giddy little squeal at the reveal.

We all knew once Lizzie left the message that Darcy would have to respond, and I think it's safe to say that it is not exactly William Darcy's style to just pick up a phone a call back. Oh, no, we all knew our favorite CEO was going to appear on the Bennet's doorstep, the only question was when.

I have to say the Charlotte fake out at the beginning of the episode was a good one, and it was absolutely perfect that she be present when Darcy appears. Now I know, more than a few of those following the webisode also let out a scream of frustration at the fact that today's episode ended with Darcy entering the room, but fear not, this is why the social media aspect of this show is so brilliant, because if you were paying attention to Twitter this morning, we can deduce a few simple, and awesome facts.

This morning Charlotte and Lizzie took to twitter, well I say morning, because in New York time it was 12:45am.

So apparently, Lizzie didn't get any of that honey, walnut shrimp. Which means she was occupied by something, or shall we say someone else. Also the fact that Charlotte is slightly incredulous over Lizzie tweeting at her, and wants the footage of what went down to edit, leans heavily in the happy Dizzie lovers favor.

I have to say though, they brought Darcy back a bit earlier than I thought, after all this was only episode #97, and we know that there are supposed to be 100 episodes. So you figure, the joint Darcy/Lizzie feelings confession will take place in #98 and most likely #100 will be a wrap up from or dear Lizzie, so what does that leave for #99?

Assist: AKA: Let's Talk Short Films

I normally stick to writing about things that are more mainstream, I guess, but today I came across a link to a short film staring Maxwell Glikc, of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries fame. I suggest you check it out before you continuing on. The film can be found here.

The film follows young Carter Roman (Glick) who is a serious film nerd, from a priviledge family, who dreams of being a director. He's a know it all and entitled, and now he's dad's gotten him a job on the biggest movie of the year, unfortunately it's as a PA.

The thing I found so interesting about the film was that it shows, at least a little bit, that all the work that goes into making all these films/television shows that we enjoy so much. It's easy to forget that there is so much involved in the creation of our favorite entertainment. It's really nice to see a film that reminds us just how important and integral the support staff really is.Sure there are those few lucky people who are "discovered" and become a star, or who are lucky enough to be born into the business, but for most people, succeeding in the entertainment industry isn't an overnight thing, and that there is a lot of hard work and a bunch of shitty jobs.

I adore Maxwell Glick and it was great to see him as a lead, so if you have the time you should definitely check this one out.

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries Episode # 96 "Talking To Myself": AKA: Lizzie Takes the Plunge

That's right folks she did it! She called Darcy!!

When we last left off, Caroline reappeared and had a few choice words for our lovely Lizzie, and her supposed manipulations of Darcy and Bing. Lizzie neither confirmed nor denyed her feelings for everyone's fave CEO and then took the high road, and invited Caroline to stay for dinner. She refused the invitation, but still, good on Lizzie and her personal growth for at least attempting to extend the olive branch.

So by today, Lizzie has been left with quite a bit of time to dwell on the whole, Darcy is her sister's savior thing, and without her usual partners in crime about to help her talk it through, she resorts to costume theatre.

What follows was by far the greatest episode of costume theatre EVER. Lizzie portrays, Jane, Fitz (sans fro, because it's at Pemberly), Gigi, herself and a FLAWLESS Charlotte.  Seriously, Lizzie's Charlotte is freakishly accurate, which makes sense I suppose since they are since fetuses best friends, still it i is a credit to Ashley Clements awesome talent.

But honestly the biggest event of today's episode was Lizzie picking up the phone and CALLING DARCY! Which as imaginary Charlotte pointed out "Oh, come on Lizzie, this isn't 1800, if you want to know what Darcy's thinking, just ask him." YES! Thank you!

So she called him, and left an awkward message, but really guys, would you have it any other way? Four episodes left folks...

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries Episode #95 "End of the Line": AKA: Oh Caroline, No...

So we've known for awhile that the chances of Catherine de Bough actually appearing on The Lizzie Bennet Diaries was probably slim to none, and a lot of people guessed that it would be Caroline Lee who would storm in with the accusation of Lizzie seducing Darcy. Especially since Lizzie is still at home, and why on earth would the great Catherine de Bourgh stoop to a house visit to the Bennet Residence?

Well today, those who guessed it would be Caroline, can all do a happy, little I-told-you-so dance. Ms. Caroline Lee burst on to today's episode with accusations and revelations. She stormed in claiming that Lizzie was the mastermind behind getting Bing to quit med school and move to New York to be with Jane. Clearly her brother was incapable of making a decision that big on his own.

First off, I can not even begin to tell you all how happy I am that Jane's "little indiscretion" was finally revealed. Seriously, that has been plaguing me for MONTHS. Apparently Jane's indiscretion was kissing another man, or rather some drunk friend of Bing's kissed her, just in time for Darcy to walk by. You really got to give it to Caroline for timing that just so. That was not an easy feet I'm sure. Now if only we got to learn how Wickham "saved" Lydia in Vegas...

Anyways as expected, Caroline semi threatens, or rather as best she can threaten, because what can she really do to her,  Lizzie, to stay away from Darcy. To which Lizzie reminds her that Darcy is in charge of his own life, and she hers, but more importantly she never flat out denies her feelings for Darcy, which as we all witnessed in episode #60 "Are You Kidding Me?".

In the original story, it is Elizabeth's confrontation with Lady Catherine that brings Darcy back to her.

“It taught me to hope,” said he, “as I had scarcely ever allowed myself hope before. I knew enough of your disposition to be certain, that had you been absolutely, irrevocably decided against me, you would have acknowledged it to Lady Catherine, frankly and openly.”

So, is this lack of denial combined with her reactions about the subject with Charlotte and Lydia in recent entries enough to give our dear Darcy hope? We have five episodes left to find out.

School of Thrones: Episode #1 Prom Night is Coming: AKA: And so it Begins

The way our society ingests entertainment has changed. People want to watch what they want when they want, and with DVRs, On Demand, Netflix, Hulu, basically the internet in general, it is entirely possible. Gone are the days when you need to rush home and be in front of the tv to watch your favorite shows. In fact I sat down to think about it and came to the realization that the only show I actually make a point to sit down and watch when it airs is Castle. Which sidebar, the whole father arc they just did WOW.

But I digress, as I said the culture of entertainment is changing. Now with the internet it is even easier for creative types to get their material out to the general public. New webisodes seem to crop up every other day.

I have just recently gotten into watching a few webisodes, most notably The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, which is as you can plainly see from my most recent entries is my newest obsession. Today, was the premiere of School of Thrones, a parody webseries about what would happen if you were to take the characters of the popular HBO series Game of Thrones  and put them in a modern day high school, in a race for the thrown. Prom night is coming, and the race to be prom king and queen is on!

So the first episode doesn't give us much more than an introduction, but I am excited to see where they go with this. Plus I'm not gonna lie I am excited that both Maxwell Glick and Mary Kate Wiles in another show as The Lizzie Bennet Diaries has already announced that their end date to be March 28th, when they hit their 100th episode.

School of Thrones posts new episodes Sundays at 12pm PST. You can watch the first episode here.

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries Episode #94 "Revelations":AKA: FINALLY!!!

So in ep. #92 Jing got their happy ending(ish) as it was more of a new beginning than an end, and in ep. #93 we got to see the lovely Charlotte again, all happy things.

A few hours ago, the newest episode of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries went up, and while the internet blew up far less than it did last week after the reuniting of Jing, today's episode had far greater consequence to the story. Today marked the beginning of the end folks, today Lizzie found out just who took down the website.

Interestingly enough, instead of Lydia letting it slip about Mr. Darcy's involvement in the saving of her reputation, ala Pride and Prejudice, our darling LBD Lydia makes the conscious decision to inform her sister of Darcy's involvement, because she feels it is the right thing to do.

Side bar: Can we take a moment to appreciate how devastating it was to hear Lydia admit she went looking into who took the site down in the hopes that it was George. That she had thought maybe he had seen how badly he hurt her and taken it down because he really did love her. Despite everything he did to her, she was still holding out hope that he loved her. I can not even begin to describe how awful that makes me feel for her. I'm glad they mentioned that she is in counseling and how she said talking to people helps. I really admire that after the Powers That Be over at LBD opened the whole emotional abuse storyline, they didn't just sweep it under a rug when it was no longer needed to further the plot. I appreciate that they are showing that there is a lasting effect to having that done to someone.

We can all agree though, the most important thing to come out of today's episode is now Lizzie KNOWS that Darcy was involved, and now she can allow herself the most important thing any person can have, hope. Maybe now she can allow herself that little bit of hope that Darcy's feelings for her haven't changed since last October. Now if we can just have Darcy find his little bit of hope that her feelings have changed, which as much as I would LOVE having "Lady" Catherine involved in this, if Darcy is watching her videos he'd have to be BLIND not to notice, then we can bring everyone's favorite couple together.
